Eternal Song

As the canorous birds sing
In the dim blue sky
I wake up with a sigh
Your name resounds
And you flash before my eyes.

Recollections,memories
Your perfume lingers
A grasp on my fingers
Your voice i can still hear
As my mind rewinds

A love so pure
For i didn't want anything
Nor did I bind you with an oath
All i dreamed of,all i hoped for
Was to see you,
For time to pass while i'm with you.

Seized in an old tale
Of innocent youngsters
Shining eyes,gleaming smiles
Transcending this world
Into a sweet dreamland,
Pledge you won't wake me

But...
As you shook me
Woke me from my dream
Half-awake,half-asleep
Harsh truths i comprehend;
Sweet dream,come to an end

But nothing will take away
This song from my heart
I weaved it in silence
As in silence I loved.
Bitter sweet verses chanted
Chronicling from the day we met
To the day we parted

The poisoned chalice

Like a flash of lightning
You struck him.
On a dark cold night
You coaxed him.
Your sons are rejoicing
As they gather for the feast.
"Tonight the anointed
Shall cease"

You consummate ugly thing
You know how to beguile.
Your flawless reasoning
Took over his mind.
The trees became leafless
And he stands heartily naked
As they cry "Tonight the anointed
Shall cease"

No longer belongs he
To the banquet.
You alienated him,
With shame he is blanketed.
His heart is hardened
As he strikes the board.
You dragged him,
Pushed, pulled and he falls.

Thousand years ago
You declared war and malice.
You know the yearning in his heart
You offer your poisoned chalice :
Predominence of mind,
The urge to touch the fire,
The tendency to defy,
Indomitable desires.

But as he lies open at the seams,
Trying to fit shards of him
A ray of hope beams,
"Flee from their schemes"
Amid desperation he recalls
Old lines he craved before :
"Do not gloat over me my enemy
Though i have fallen ,I will rise
Though i sit in darkness,
The Lord will be my light"

This poem is inspired by a good friend of mine.It's about the oldest war ever-sin vs man. "The anointed" is a term used in Christian faith-but here i use it as an equivalent to "believer".

"Banquet" is a biblical term as well.It refers to heaven.Finally,the last four lines are a direct quote from the bible.

His unholy eyes beckon

On the cold darkest nights
Your unholy eyes beckoned.
Your grasp was tight around me.
So frail,ingenuous young girl
Couldn't fight you on the coldest nights.

With a gesture of a Sovereign
You coaxed and intimidated me.
To your blurring den you dragged me down.
I felt swamped, i drowned.
You had all of me.

Sweet Soft poison spilled into my ears.
Snake eyes tracked me with no fear.
You paralyzed my mind.
You devoured my heart.
To you I was confined.

Still on the darkest nights,
Your unholy eyes resuscitate my fears,
Your noxious smell still lingers.
Your ring scar my finger.
But though my heart is torn asunder,
And i'm assembling shreds of me,
I'm resolved : I shall not surrender.
Your empty sick life i abandoned.

This is one of the gothic poems ,or what i consider gothic,which I wrote a year ago.When you are vulnerable and fragile,and his unholy eyes beckon,promising healing and pleasure however evanescent,you can't help but surrender.But as you open your eyes through the dark hole you've been dragged to,you hate the days you wasted and decide to abandon this sick sweet addiction.

Sovereign of my heart

Sovereign of my heart,
You abdicate and desert
The vineyard after it ripened,
The rose garden after it bloomed,
The dark hole you brightened.
Resuscitated my heart
When it swooned.

Sovereign of my heart,
For you, I walked up,
All alone,the coldest hills.
Years and years passed,
Everything was at your whim.
Sweet was the spell you cast
That stripped me of my will.

Sovereign of my heart!
After every battle you won,
You'd run to my cottage.
And I'd clean your wounds
Stealing all the night alone.
Then you'd leave before
The break of the dawn.

Sovereign of my heart,
You drowned your pain in me
Sought repentance in my embrace.
Tears from your eyes mingled
With mine.Sweet was their taste.
Purified,together entwined
Soft breeze,the lullaby.

Beats of your heart
Against mine. No longer
Could I hide.Lying naked,
You saw through me,
Woke up my moribund soul.
In resurrection we belonged.
For life we longed.

On a cold December's night,
By the white river so quiet,
A farewell hug, we had to depart.
You bowed, kissed my hands,
And gave me a scarlet locket
Around my neck forever it hangs,
Screaming and declaring :
"He is the sovereign of my heart"
